Building momentum in Accounting
Accounting at Laurier is thriving. A very strong group of faculty members is producing real-world research while equally energetic and talented students learn and develop knowledge alongside them.
Donors are essential to this momentum, funding opportunities for both faculty and students through professorships, fellowships and scholarships. We recognize the generosity and commitment to the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics exemplified by the Linamar Fellowships & Scholarships in Accounting, the KPMG Foundation Fellowships in Accounting, the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Ontario PhD in Management (Accounting Field) Scholarship, the CPA Ontario SBE Professorship in Accounting and the William Birchall Foundation Fellowship in Accounting.
Students need spaces to thrive in their learning. That's why we're grateful for the support of PwC, who stepped in to fund student study space in Lazaridis Hall.
We are also fortunate at the Lazaridis School to have additional support for research through CPA Ontario’s gift to support the CPA Ontario Centre for Capitals Markets and Behavioural Decision Making. The Centre brings together representatives from Laurier; BDO; Clarke, Starke and Diegel and CPA Ontario who review and support cutting-edge research opportunities in the field of accounting. We’re also grateful for CPA Ontario’s previous support which enabled the now completed work of the CPA/Laurier Centre for the Advancement of Accounting Research and Education.
