Catalysts for Change: Celebrating 10 Years of Impact
Catalyst built on Laurier’s core values and strengthened our position as an institution that prepares students to contribute meaningfully in their local and global communities.
Fundraising through Catalyst spanned the university and included the Building Canada’s Best Business School campaign, the Laurier Brantford YMCA project, and support for strategic initiatives like student support, faculty funding and campus-community projects. You can explore stories of campaign outcomes within the four sections below.
Across the university, donor support improved spaces for teaching, studying, performing and experimenting to enhance purposeful learning at Laurier. These new and improved environments will inspire collaboration, comprehension, discovery and bold ideas for years to come, preparing students to make a real-world difference.
Thank you to each and every donor and volunteer who contributed to make this campaign a success. You have helped to ensure that Laurier offers purposeful learning and creates global impact for years to come.

Building Canada's Best Business School
Laurier is home to one of Canada’s most selective and innovative business programs. Through the Building Canada’s Best Business School campaign, donors supported the evolution of the school. The campaign cornerstone: a transformative gift from Mike Lazaridis to name the building housing the newly named Lazaridis School of Business & Economics and the creation of the Lazaridis Institute for the Management of Technology Enterprises.
Laurier Brantford YMCA: A Unique Partnership
The opening of the new Laurier Brantford YMCA in fall 2018 marked the dawn of a new era for athletics and recreation at Laurier in Brantford.
Strategic Programs and Partnerships
With more than 100 years of history in Waterloo Region and 20 years in the City of Brantford, Laurier thrives on the programs and partnerships built for the betterment of our shared communities.
Student Awards and Faculty Funding
During the Catalyst campaign, donor funded professorships, fellowships and scholarships grew significantly, meaning that our faculty and students can focus on purposeful learning, community engagement, and impactful work.
