Third annual Golden Hawks Giving Challenge raises more than $91,000

On April 1, 2026, more than 565 donors soared with varsity Golden Hawks and helped raise over $91,000 to benefit student-athletes.

“This collective generosity fuels game-changing resources, including enhanced facilities, investments in coaching, travel, nutrition and upgraded equipment,” says Courtney Bruce, senior coordinator, Sport and Athlete Services at Laurier.

Women’s Soccer: Top Dollar Value

For the third year in a row, Women’s Soccer has come out victorious with the top dollar value, raising over $15,000!

Women’s Soccer also won the half-time challenge and unlocked a total of $1,750 in additional one-time funds for their team.

Women’s Basketball: Top Donor Count

With an impressive 300% of their donor goal achieved, Women’s Basketball has secured the Top Donor Count and Most Improved – Donors titles!

With their half-time challenge win, they unlocked a total of $2,250 plus a bonus $2,000 from donor Dan Jerred (BA ’73) for their team.
